This is a picture of downed power lines next to our apartment building.When we moved into these crappy apartments we had a choice of living next to a busy road or right underneath major power lines. Most chose the traffic side. They feared the cancer threat of the power lines. I chose the side with power lines. There are way too many other things that are going to kill me before living near power lines. Besides, there was a rumor there wasn't any power going through them.
It turns out the rumor may have been true. The lines broke off during the storm a week ago. There's been no attempt to fix them and no area is without electricity.
