Putting the "douche" in douchebag

Anyone wanting to sell something can have pictures taken and e-mailed to all staff/faculty of the university. It's like a garage sale flyer. In the past I have seen items I wanted and by the time I called - a mere four hours later - the item had been sold.

I caught the garage sale flier soon after it was sent. It had several items I wanted: A dishwasher, leather couches, and computer desk. I called and was told, "Oh no, I can't sell them before the open house on Friday morning. It would be unfair." I said, "OK. I will be there as the door opens to buy them."

Ann and Mike joined me. We got there 10 minutes early. I rang the door bell. A person inside looked out at us but didn't come outside. After standing there for five minutes I said, "Let's go." Then a guy emerged from the residence to say, "Oh, there is nothing for sale. My sister-in-law called and she said she wanted to buy it all."

There was no apologetic sign for those who came expecting a large garage sale. No apology from the guy selling his stuff that he hadn't kept his word.

Later I learned that he lied to our face: The guy did NOT sell to "sister-in-law." He sold it all to another person living in this building.

No class and no ethics = douchebag.
