First the good news: I get to teach summer school! I had asked, I politely begged, but there was nothing open. This morning my chair called to say they've opened two new sections and I got them. Yippee!
Now the bad news: I get to teach summer school in the hottest place on earth. I don't have the schedule but it means what was supposed to be 2 1/2 months back in Iowa will now be one.
I joked, "The heat is going to kill me."
My chair replied, "We'll get you a free pass to Ski Dubai so you can go stand in the snow."
I also (stupidly) forgot to ask how much it will pay... but given that it's two classes it will be much, much more than I could have hoped for.
