Usually bands make about 10 Cents per cd sold. They make their real money touring if they keep their costs down.So for Coldplay to do what they did, they are smart because they have a 'cult' following who would pay big bucks to see them in person.Coldplay isnt a band who recieves large radio time. They need people to actually listen to their music in order to like it.Unlike Metallica....Their music sucks and they dont want anyone to hear it for free until they get their nickel.
