On Tuesday my brother-in-law was elected mayor of Ventura, Iowa.
Being politically active I've met many, many politicians. I can't think of any elected official asnon-political as George. He's a complete Type-B that is usually the one providing comic relief at family functions... like in the picture above at his daughter Gina's wedding (and that's my sister Miriam laughing in back.)So where was he when he learned he had won? In the hospital. Earlier in the evening he was driving on a rural road and hit a tractor that had ran out of gas.
From seeing the car it is remarkable that he was treated and released from the hospital that night.
