A year for farmers to be thankful?

This is a good article by a Missouri farmer. It does not romanticize farming but explains the realities of the modern farm. While I'm not surprised yields were good this year, I don't know if Missouri had to deal with all the fall rain like Iowa farmers.

  1. As the owner of a farm in Missouri, we DID have to deal with the rain early in the season. My manager ended up having to replant soybeans completely. Altho the harvesting season was completed with held breath, it looks like the yield is going to be the best it has been in many years. Now, if the sale of the farm just goes through, I will be a happy camper.
