The student had no idea what the t-shirt meant. He was just wearing it... kinda like the t-shirt a student was wearing last year that said, "I don't have to be dead for me to give you my organ." When I explained it to him he was horrified and never wore it again.
I think it was a two part embarrassment: He's wearing a shirt on an all male campus saying he wants to give them his organ, and to publicly say you want sex is just not kosher here.
Hmmm. I don't think Muslims would appreciate the term "kosher"... but my American readers probably wouldn't understand "halal" - a term I hadn't heard before I came here.
Confused? Just think "acceptable."
I still want to understand that shirt. Seriously. E-mail this post to friends and family. I'm gonna lose sleep over this.

Gee, I was thinking the "I don't have to be dead.." shirt was a just a plug for organ (kidney or liver) donation...
