A good reason to avoid McDonalds

I need a good reason to avoid McDonalds.  The McArabia alone accounts for 10 of the 30 pounds I’ve gained since I arrived here.

A Mickey D’s employee in Arkansas heard a man verbally abuse a woman and then punch her in the face.  The employee pushed him outside where he was shot several times.

McDonalds is now fighting his workman’s comp claim.  Here’s the TV news segment:

  1. Great point: They could have easily turned this into a positive.

Lawyers. What's the old joke? What do you call 5000 lawyers at the bottom of the sea? A good start.

  2. I'M NOT STICKING UP FOR MC D's BUT HE WAS NOT BEING HELD UP OR THE GUY DID NOT PULL THE GUN IN THE PLACE. AND IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN THE INSURANCE COMPANY THAT HANDLES WORKERS COMP IS NOT A BUSINESS OWNED BY MC D'S. HOWEVER AFTER THIS HITS THE PEOPLE MAYBE THEY WILL FEEL THE PRESSURE AND STEP FORWARD AND PAY OUT OF THEIR OWN POCKET AND USE THE MOTTO THAT OUR EMPLOYEES GO ABOVE AND BEYOND! I GUESS WHAT I'M ASKING IS WHO IS RESPONSIBLE IF I RESCUE SOME CHILD FROM A BURNING BUILDING, AND GET KILLED. THE OWNER OF THE BUILDING, THE CHILD, OR THE CITY WHO'S FIRE DEPARTMENT I BEAT, OR MY WIFE?
THIS IS WAY TO LAWERISTIC OF ME. LAWERISTIC IS A NEW WORD I JUST INVENTED TO SOUND COOL!
p.s. I DO THINK MC D'S IS MAKING A HUGH MISTAKE BY NOT JUST PAYING IT AND USING IT FOR PROMOTION.

  3. As a lawyer I've heard all the great jokes! There are a few of us who are actual human beings believe it or not. You'll be happy to know that in Iowa good ol' Micky D's would not get out of paying workers comp to this guy...there's a good samaritan rule here.
