I think his fundamental flaw has been expecting Republicans to act responsibly. He gave them WAY too much on the stimulus bill on the day it was introduced. If he had given them nothing and then "compromised" to the current bill he would have had more Republican support. As to the staffing problems, I don't think they are a big deal in the long run. Although I found it surprising that Judd Gregg "discovered" that Obama's a Democrat...
