Please tell me the Republican party can do better than this.
It's a race for who will chair the Republican National Committee. As an Iowan I'm not sure who to root for.
Update: I edited the post because it was unfair.
Newt is a creative guy. Nussle (until his campaign for governor) is a smart tactician. If they choose one of the two it would be a signal for the party's direction. To pick Newt would mean the Republicans want to rejuvenate ideas.
To pick Nussle can only mean they aim for the gutter.
In 2002 Nussle was in a tight reelection bid. One night I was at Mike Longwell's house when one of Nussle's ads played. The ads were relentlessly negative and personal. Mike, who is as non-political as a person can be, said, "After this election she's going to have move out of the state."
