It arrived on Thursday, November 6.

  1. You didn't get to VOTE? Are you SERIOUS? I am in shock.

  2. Nope. By the time I realized I didn't have it - about 10 days before the election - it was too late.

  3. WHOA! Have you ever missed an election?

  4. I'm still in shock and wondering if the world is about to end. STEVE KRANZ DIDN'T VOTE in THE most historic election in our country? Wow. I'm so sorry - but at least you weren't in Minnesota where every vote is counting - and re-counting...

  5. Well, I guess the good news is that you can keep the ballot - it might be worth something someday!

I had my kids help me fill in the circle for Barack Obama - I wanted them to be able to say they helped their mom vote for him - in addition to campaigning for him as well!

Were you just incredibly frustrated about this? I would have been in tears thinking I couldn't vote in this election (and I rarely cry).

  6. Frustrated? Yes. Feel left out? No.
The Benton County recorder is someone I know personally. I am very disappointed that she didn't send it early enough.

I don't feel left out because... well, I'm an arrogant Iowan. The political world revolves around Iowa. I housed an Obama worker for 3 months and caucused for the guy. If it weren't for Iowa Hillary would have been the nominee. So I guess I feel I had already participated in the election of Barack Obama.

There is part of me that wanted to die knowing I had voted in every election. Then I realized I would be dead, so who cares?
