I went to the movie with two British friends. After the movie my first question was, "So did it bother you that all the "English men" were played by Aussies and Americans?"
The response? Not really, we're used to it. The bad writing was much more troublesome.
I can understand why Robin Hood has become a rallying cry for the Tea Party. This Robin Hood didn't really fight the rich to give to the poor. This Robin Hood fought for (and in Robin Hood 2 against) a strangely Arab looking king whose heavy handed control was destroying the nation. The only way the movie could have been more analogous to the current Tea Party would have been to claim that the king was really born in Kenya.
