My nemesis: 200

Am I on a diet? Really? I've been hanging around 200 I feel like I should buy him a drink or have him arrested for stalking.

In three weeks I fly home. Today I weighed in at 201. I can blame it on drinking water... which is has some truth since I'm downing 2 liters+ every day in this heat... but it's also too convenient. I've been good: Small, low-carb meals. There's no reason why I'm not still losing weight.

Ugh.

  1. I think the water is an excuse. After all, you pee or sweat most of it out. Rather, I would guess your body is still suffering from the abuse you indulged in after you hit 200 and the weight you gained from your indulgences. Some foods stick with us longer in the fat cells. It will take some time to rebound from your 'sins'.

  2. I find what's been working for me has been keeping careful track of my foods, making time to workout (a task i loathe) 3x a week or so, and while I eat a lot of protein, you shouldn't make it your only plan of attack. I ate 165g of protein yesterday, and roughly 70g of carbs. Grand total of roughly 1500 calories spread over 5 meals. (140 cal breakfast, 450 cal lunch, 200cal @3pm, 500cal dinner, 200cal at 9pm).

I'm currently at 169 (as of this morning) and down ~27# from March 1. Target goal is 165 by July 4 (birthday, totally attainable) and 155/150 by Sept27 (final weigh in for work contest, also attainable)

Eating 5x a day is a pain in the ass, but after the first couple weeks your stomach will shrink and you will be full after smaller meals. (that said, if/when you miss a meal by more than a few minutes you will know it in a hurry)
