Today Arlen Specter may see his political career end. He may lose the Democratic primary in Pennsylvania. If he loses he’ll be the second sitting senator to lose his party’s nomination: Utah Tea Partiers took out their Republican senator. His 100% conservative voting record wasn’t conservative enough for them.
Scandals are brewing across the nation. First, the Democrat who had the election all but won in Connecticut appears to have lied about serving in Vietnam.
My favorite clueless politician is a woman running for the senate in Nevada. A month ago she suggested that better healthcare reform would be to return to barter. She literally suggested exchanging chickens for a doctor’s services! That wasn’t enough to bump her out of first place in the Republican primary. Now it turns out that a supporter bought a campaign bus and gave it to her campaign. (That violates all kinds of campaign finance laws…)
A day of scandals wouldn’t be complete unless a family values conservative was caught with his fly down. But good news! At least this time it was straight (extra-marital) sex.
Now here’s the kicker: You can see the woman he was boning in the video below. The topic? Abstinence.
I know most people find politics boring. I don’t. This better than a soap opera!
