Paying for a bathroom

For some reason bathrooms - and their use - is on my mind a lot tonight. Perhaps it's the fact I'm living in a sewer...

RyanAir is considering charging $1.40 to use a bathroom while in flight.

I'm not totally opposed. Personally, I'd prefer a system where the passenger is charged by the minute. On the flight to Dubai I stood outside of a bathroom for - no exaggeration - 15 minutes. One of the other guys waiting joked, "If someone is having sex in there they'd be done by now." He got tired of waiting and walked away. I was fascinated to see who would eventually emerge and waited to see a healthy, mid-20's woman exit.

I guess that leads me to the question of the day: Does a single pair of Depends cost more or less than a $1.40 and would some find that to be a viable option?

  1. Actually, RyanAir is not considering that charge. An interview with someone from the organization said that suggestion was tossed out in a brainstorming sort of session and immediately shot down.

Kinda makes you wonder what the woman was doing in there, doesn't it?
