For the past three weeks students from the various colleges competed in a trivia competition. Tonight was the finale three teams of four girls playing a game similar to Jeopardy.
For the event the University bought an unbelievable amount of flowers. All the flowers you see in these two pictures are real. As a centerpiece they'd cost at least $50 each in the US and there were more than twenty of them. Doing the math that would be over $1000 on flowers. The trophy (bad picture above) was huge.
The contestants were all women since male students are not allowed on the female campus.
The prize money? $1000 to each person on the winning team. $750 for each getting second place and $500 for each getting third.
If we ran the same competition in the US the winning team might get a gift certificate to Denny's.
Mmmmmm...Denny's!!!
ReplyDeleteBut I'd get 2nd place (gift certificate to Hardee's) for screwing up and thinking that the planet the death star blew up was Dantooine, not Alderaan..
ReplyDeleteI'm still beating myself up for that one, those extra credit points were mine for the taking.
And you should beat yourself up for that. How you could forget watching Alderaan exploding and Princess Leia getting choked up is beyond me.
