Understood. I've never had a standard 8-4:30 job. Still, I had terms at Hamilton where I was on campus from 8:30AM to 9:45PM and standing in front of students for 12 hours in one day. I oddly prefer the world of changing schedules. There's an appeal to a regular schedule but it's never been tempting to me.
On the new schedule my week starts at 2PM on Sundays and is over at 5PM on Wednesdays. A little less than a 4 day work week? Yeah, I'll stop complaining.
And those of us who have to be to work every morning at 8am have no sympathy for you. Join the corporate masses!
