Resources are becoming more scarce?! Because if we are more productive as a society, you would think that we'd also be rewarded for it... So if resources are becoming more scarce, then I'd think that they (meaning resources) become more expensive relative to our productivity.
Another good possibility is that 3rd world countries are using technology much better than they ever have but are being taken advantage of... Ok buddy, you've baited us, now what?!
Thought this had more to do with women becoming a larger portion of the workforce and working for substantially less. I'm pretty sure you covered that in class.

So, we're becoming more efficient with a crappier salary? It would be interesting to know how productivity is doing in this economy!
